The song of the Human Beings

1st January 2007

Yesterday when I was watching the New Year Celebrations across the planet Earth and when I watched the news on TV about the execution of Saddam Hussein, my mind longed to see the emergence of more powerful United Nations and the International Court of Justice as two independent world bodies.

Then my mind traversed though the images and statistics being shown on some TV channels about the people without food, shelter, clothing, medicines and education. The scenes of Nature being shown on Discovery Channel, Animal Planet channels reinforced my belief that this Planet Earth has no dearth of resources to feed all the living organisms including the Human Beings.
As I was slipping into sleep a thought about “The song of the human beings praising their Mother Nature” emerged from my mind. The Google search that I conducted a while ago resulted in obtaining this piece of information from the link: http://www.halfbakery.com/idea/Global_20Anthem

The UN website says:

// Though many songs have been written about the United Nations or on related themes, there is no official anthem or hymn for the Organization. The United Nations General Assembly has recognized the need for an official song and accordingly has reserved the right for its selection and adoption. To date, no decision has been taken on this matter. The United Nations does not maintain a file of musical compositions or accept suggestions for this purpose. //

This has really surprised me. Why did we ignore this? Why there is no attempt made on this? Why there was no thinking in this direction? Why can’t we create a unique world citizenship card that serves many purposes and become a unique document.

To start with we need to agree upon the Song of the human beings praising their Mother Earth for all that She has been giving us to sustain the life on this Planet. It is madness to search for life on other planets without making the life on this planet livable!!

Thanks to the English Language, many human beings on this planet earth can exchange information with each other, share their feelings, express their mind and assert themselves. With so much love for this language I venture into singing:

The Song of the Human Beings praising their Mother Earth

O Mother Earth you have no dearth
To feed, protect, please and produce
We, your children, in you show our absolute faith
Resolve to create with all love for you through a truce

Affectionate Africa
Amicable America
Antalgic Antarctica
Unique Eurasia and
Open Oceania

Food shelter clothing
Health and education
For all in the world
Forever and forever

Nations compete
For decorating boarders
As welcome boards
Soldiers become the Guards of Love
Weapons become the valedictory fireworks

Air Water
Space Fire
Earth with its
Life and Love
Reckoned as real wealth

O Mother enable us to give more
As we know you in return give us much more
We love you Mother
Forever and forever
